Our Mission

Hueco Climbers Alliance (HCA) is the nonprofit group dedicated to preserving climbing access at Hueco Tanks State Park and Historic Site while also conserving the cultural and natural resources.

Core Goals

• Safeguarding climbing access for present and future generations.
• Protecting the cultural and natural resources of Hueco Tanks
• Provide climbing management expertise to Texas Parks and Wildlife that ensures sustainable management of the world-class climbing resources.
• Partner with Texas Parks and Wildlife in order to preserve the unique cultural and natural resources of Hueco Tanks.Cultivating a positive working relationship with HTSP&HS and TPWD staff
• Promote ing proper climber etiquettebest practices for sustainable climbing amongst the climbing community.
• Encourage a collaborative approach for climbing management between the climbing community, Texas Parks and Wildlife, and public stakeholders.
• Documenting the history of climbing at Hueco Tanks.

Statement of Purpose

The Hueco Climbers Alliance aims to foster an inclusive climber group advocating for responsible climbing in Hueco Tanks State Park & Historic Site. Actively working with TPWD to maintain climber and recreational access to HTSP&HS while preserving the cultural and natural resources of the area.
